Douglas Cobb
Transportation Engineer and Cycling Enthusiast

A Cure for Congestion
Welcome to my professional and academic work portal. My name is Doug and I am a professional engineer who is currently working on my Ph.D. in Civil Engineering. I am a diehard Hokie (i.e. Virginia Tech alumnist), and I love what I do! While most of my professional work has been in traffic operations and safety, my passion and research lies in cycling. My goal, after the completion of my doctorate, is to serve both as a professor-of-practice and a practicing engineer, with my focus relying specifically on cycling behavior, safety, and promotion in hopes of reducing vehicle congestion and emissions and improving overall health.
